1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Makeja Rentals ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. What Makeja Rentals Is
Makeja Rentals is a listings marketplace that connects tenants and roommate-seekers with landlords and property listers in Machakos County. We do not own, manage, or inspect every property listed, and we are not a party to any rental agreement, deposit, or payment made between users.
3. Account Responsibilities
You're responsible for the accuracy of information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Landlords are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including price, availability, and photos.
4. Safety & Payments
Always visit a property in person before paying anything, and never send money or a deposit without a written agreement. Makeja Rentals does not process rent, deposits, or payments between users, and is not responsible for losses arising from transactions you make with other users off-platform. "Verified" badges indicate a listing has passed our review process, not a guarantee of the property's condition or the lister's conduct.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You may not post false or misleading listings, discriminate against tenants or roommates on any protected basis, harass other users, or use the Platform for any unlawful purpose. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
6. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Makeja Rentals is not liable for disputes, damages, or losses arising from interactions, agreements, or transactions between users conducted outside the Platform.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
